Explicit AI Deepfakes: Graphika Insights Featured by The Financial Times

The troubling use of generative AI technology to create non-consensual intimate imagery is on the rise. Graphika is featured in a new report from The Financial Times that sheds light on the issue, including how advances in technology have contributed and where legislation to prevent deepfake image abuse stands.

The ability of anyone to create images inexpensively and efficiently is a major contributing factor, according to Graphika Chief Intelligence Officer Jack Stubbs.

"This is part of the broader issue with AI. This technology is all about amplifying existing processes,” Stubbs told the Financial Times.

Graphika shared that in September, there were more than 32 million visits globally to “nudify” or “undressing” sites.

Stubbs also highlighted the feature on some sites which allows generated images to make people appear younger than they really are.
