Graphika In The News: DeepSeek Insights Featured In New York Times, Reuters

New media reports are highlighting a recent insight from the Graphika ATLAS platform that sheds light on how Chinese state, state-linked, and pro-China actors pushed narratives celebrating the January 20th release of Chinese AI company DeepSeek's latest large language model (LLM).

The narratives included claims that the model's low cost and competitive performance are a threat to the United States' ability to dominate in the race for AI industry dominance.

“China is able to quickly mobilize a range of actors that seed and amplify online narratives casting Beijing as surpassing the U.S. in critical areas of geopolitical competition,” Graphika Chief Intelligence Officer Jacks Stubbs told The New York Times.

Stubbs also shared with Reuters that the online activity is reflective of China's interest in "the race to develop and deploy the most advanced AI technologies."

Graphika ATLAS delivers ongoing insights about evolving online threats and narratives like these through our Chinese State Influence Feed.
