Inauthentic Websites Use TikTok, WhatsApp to Target Visitors Through 2026 FIFA World Cup Tickets Sales
We identified two websites that state they are "Authorized FIFA ticketing partners," and two companion TikTok accounts advertising FIFA World Cup tickets and hospitality packages for sale.

Key Finding
We identified two websites that state they are "Authorized FIFA ticketing partners," and two companion TikTok accounts advertising FIFA World Cup tickets and hospitality packages for sale. The sites' "Contact Us" buttons link to two different WhatsApp numbers, both with a +1 country code (Canada and the U.S.). We could not determine through open-source information whether these are phishing or scam websites, though both are tagged as moderate risk for phishing in DomainTools.
Online Activity
- Both sites were created in the past 30 days. Based on the infrastructure, including mail servers and hosting providers, as well as an archived version of a successful site-creation page in simplified Chinese, these sites were likely created by operator(s) in China or Southeast Asia.
- Both sites use the same layout, including the same fake reviews, and both have the Lovable.dev logo as their favicon. This indicates that the site operators almost certainly used Lovable to create the sites.
- We identified real U.S.-based individuals tied to the phone numbers linked on these sites. However, based on these individuals' online footprint, we do not assess that they are the individuals behind the sites. We assess that the WhatsApp numbers may have been compromised or recycled.
- We identified one TikTok account advertising worldcup2026ticket[.]shop in its bio. This account uses a stock image profile picture; the same stock image appears on the WhatsApp account linked on "Contact Us" buttons on the site. The account's followers and those it follows are primarily Chinese and Vietnamese users, some of whom are authentic, low-follower accounts, further strengthening our conclusion that this activity originated in China or Southeast Asia.
- The second TikTok account is no longer accessible, but cached Google results show that its bio included a link to ticketworldcup2026[.]com.
