SKIMS Scam Targets TikTok Creators With Phishing Emails
TikTok and X users have reported receiving fraudulent emails claiming to be from SKIMS, the shapewear and clothing brand co-founded by media personality Kim Kardashian, promoting an inauthentic “Partner Program” for content creators that requires an "activation" fee.

Key Finding
TikTok and X users have reported receiving fraudulent emails claiming to be from SKIMS, the shapewear and clothing brand co-founded by media personality Kim Kardashian, promoting an inauthentic “Partner Program” for content creators that requires an "activation" fee. The scam likely exploits SKIMS’ brand recognition and influencer-marketing model to deceive creators into sharing personal or financial information and making fraudulent payments.
Online Activity
- The scam apparently relies on email outreach; one TikTok creator stated the scam likely targets influencers whose bios list contact information. On TikTok and X, users shared screenshots of emails and application portals mimicking SKIMS branding. Application forms request personal information, engagement metrics, and follower counts, which one creator (27.6k followers) noted mirrors legitimate influencer-marketing onboarding processes.
- After submitting applications, creators reported receiving acceptance messages directing them to pay $60–$80 in activation fees, with promises of reimbursement. Multiple users identified the payment request as the primary indicator of fraud, noting that legitimate affiliate or creator programs don't require upfront payments.
- Some emails list a Karis Jones as a point of contact for the partnership, alongside the address karis@skims.influencerprogram.app. According to business networking platforms, Karis Jones is a human resources executive at SKIMS.
- From victims' posts about the scam, we identified three now-inactive domains: skims.mypartnerplatform[.]com, skims.influencerplatform[.]app, and skims.influencerprograms[.]app – registered by NameSilo, Dynadot, and NiceNIC, respectively.Indications of potential coordination include the domains' similar registration period (February to April 2026), followed by their dormancy, and their use, in two cases, of the top-level domain ".app, which is uncommon for scam websites.
- Videos warning about the scam are widespread on TikTok and have garnered dozens of comments, including from other victims, such as "UGH I totally fell for this one."
